The world outlook of modern architects’ majority is based on opinion, expressed by Louise Henry Sullivan in his book “Kindergarten Chats”. According to it “everything looks like what it is, and vice versa, everything is what it looks like.” This thesis is fundamental in context of gnosiology. It gives the evidence that architects follow speculative concept of cognition. Our project is impossible in the network of that concept. There is no sense to examine it proceeding from that point of view. It’s better to take a look at this project according to the agnosticism position. It affirms impossibility of cognition’s compliance with reality proof. Agnostics say that any knowledge, gained with the help of sense organs, must not be given the status of real object. <!--break-->
This concept is not popular in architectural circles. It doesn’t seem to be cool, if some person doubts about his ability to cognize real space. It is especially strange for those who admit space arranging as their primary activity. From the other hand this concept opens up broad possibilities for creative work. A huge range of hypothesizes about space phenomenon might be formed on this basis. Those hypothesizes would provide an opportunity to create projects, unreal in limits of traditional ideas.
So, let’s imagine that real hyperspace is four-dimensional indeed. Traditional 3D space is just an idea of one’s mind. It is a subjective model of real hyperspace, formed in men’s consciousness, because of incompleteness of his perception apparatus. In that case, all the geometrical ideas we have appear to be 3D projections of real 4D objects.
We know that different amount of space volume can fit into the same area unit, depending on occupied height. By analogy, different amount of hyperspace volume can fit into the same space unit, depending on the fourth axis’ dimension (which is not perceived by people). So the mankind should train its 4D perception skills instead of holding wars and conquering or buying new territories.
In the end of the XIX century for the purpose of city area economy, the fashion for tall buildings appeared. In the beginning of the XXI century, in the terms of the World financial crisis environment, we have to extrude new buildings into the 4th dimension to save space of existing cities.
Most Ukrainians can not afford buying new apartment in Kyiv. It is a big problem for young families, forced to live together with their parents in a small flat. The lack of personal and private space for one family leads to essential decrease of life quality.
To solve the problem we have created the project of a living unit inside the hyperspace of a tessaract with the side size of 7 meters. Tessaract is a four-dimensional solid object with 16 vertices, 32 equal edges, 24 equal square faces and 8 equal cubic cells.

Cube is the simplest three-dimensional projection of a tessaract. People exist in 3 dimensions of real hyperspace so they perceive only one of eight equal cubic cells of the tessaract. Our living unit includes 7x7x7x8 = 2774 cubic meters of hyperspace volume. It will occupy area of 7x7 = 49 square meters and space volume of 7x7x7 = 343 cubic meters of existing city. As you can see, it makes sense. We can save 2431 cubic meters of city space on each unit. The only problem of our project is the fact, that modern person can use only 1/8 of his apartment. Because of his limited perceptive skills he can exist only inside one of eight rooms which he owns in reality. Nevertheless, we hope that people will learn to perceive space adequately and so, we bring our project forward.
